
Karen is a PhD Candidate in International Relations at the University of St. Andrews. Her research interests broadly encompass constitutionalism, law, and politics. Her doctoral thesis,‘ Constitutional Courts: Reconciling the Law, Politics, and ‘Spirit’ after Transition,’ historicises constitutional adjudication in post-transitional societies focusing on Zimbabwe and South Africa as case studies.
Karen holds a MLitt. from the University of St. Andrews in Legal and Constitutional Studies and an LLB (Hons.) from Anglia Ruskin University. She is a Steering Committee member for the Institute of Legal and Constitutional Studies. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is also a legal and policy consultant primarily working on the rule of law; access to justice; and the realisation of human rights.
