Anette joined the School in September 2023 and has been Co-Director of CGLG since the academic year 2024/25. Her research studies how normative beliefs shape foreign policy decision-making as well as how decision-makers shape international law and norms. She is particularly interested in decision-making and international law regarding the (non-)use of military force, and in decision-making at the United Nations. Anette’s research has been published with International Studies Quarterly, the European Journal of International Relations, International Affairs and the Journal of Global Security Studies. Her book, The Politics of International Norms: A Rhetorical Approach, was published with Cambridge University Press in 2025.
