Daniel Drury

PhD student in International Relations

Daniel is a PhD student in the School of International Relations at St Andrews. His project focuses on the environmental governance of the Amazon region and how effective the partnership of international organisations and local government is in protecting and preserving the Amazon ecosystem. The project is influenced by the Foucauldian theory of governmentality and additionally by the theory of polycentric governance.

Daniel is supervised by Dr Y Ariadne Collins and Dr Anthony Lang Jr, both from the School of International Relations. While at St Andrews, he has also researched and presented on the topic of populism in Central Europe.

He has a BA in History and Politics from the University of Kent and an MA in International Relations from the Brussels School of International Studies in Brussels, Belgium. Along with environmental governance and populism, he has worked on a variety of different research topics during his studies including the Politics and Governance of the EU and electoral strategy.
