
PhD Candidate, International Relations
Yifan is a PhD student in the School of International Relations. Her research broadly engages with International Relations theory and space security governance, with a particular focus on responsible behaviours in outer space. She has a background in outer space law, concentrating on legal issues related to anti-satellite weapons (ASATs), responsible space behaviours, and the involvement of commercial space operators in armed conflict. In terms of commercial involvement, her work particularly examines the standards of allocation and attribution of commercial space activities, as well as the application of the Law of Neutrality in such scenario.
Yifan holds a Bachelor of Management from Liaoning University (China); a Bachelor of Business in International Trade from Victoria University (Australia); a Master of International Law from Beijing Institute of Technology (China); and an MSc in International Public Policy and Diplomacy from University College Cork (Ireland).
